Baked Brie with Caramelized Apples

A delightful dish combining warm, gooey Brie cheese with sweet, caramelized apples, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (optional)
  • Chopped pecans (optional)
  • Honey for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Cook until the apples are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. If using puff pastry, roll it out and place the Brie in the center.
  4. Top the Brie with the caramelized apples, then fold the pastry over the cheese.
  5. If not using pastry, place the Brie on an oven-safe dish, and top it directly with the caramelized apples.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melty and gooey.
  7. Remove from the oven, and sprinkle with chopped pecans and drizzle with honey if desired.
  8. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.

Notes

Make sure to keep an eye on the apples while they cook. Use sweet apple varieties like Honeycrisp or Fuji for best results.
