Candy-Covered Caramel Bars

Delicious bars made of rich caramel covered with a smooth candy coating, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup caramel candies
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chocolate or colored candy coating
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs (optional for a crunchy base)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking pan: Line a square baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Make the caramel: In a saucepan, combine caramel candies and heavy cream over low heat. Stir until smooth.
  3. Prepare the base: If using, combine graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and press it into the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Layer the caramel: Pour the melted caramel over the prepared base and let it cool completely.
  5. Add candy coating: Melt your choice of candy coating and pour it over the cooled caramel layer. Let it set at room temperature or in the fridge.

Notes

For the best results, use a candy thermometer to ensure your caramel reaches the perfect consistency. Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
