  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: whipped cream or ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the molasses, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Slowly combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, don’t overmix the batter. Use a glass baking dish for even cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for up to a week.
