  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, warm water, and olive oil.
  2. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 1-2 hours).
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking pan.
  6. Once the dough has risen, spread it evenly in the greased pan.
  7. Gently press the apple slices into the dough, then drizzle the caramel sauce on top.
  8. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days, or freeze for longer storage. Reheat individual slices in a toaster oven or microwave.
