Rustic Garlic Rosemary Skillet Bread

A warm and aromatic bread infused with garlic and rosemary, baked to perfection in a skillet.

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. In a skillet, heat some olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  5. Add chopped rosemary and cook for another minute.
  6. Incorporate the garlic-rosemary mixture into the dough.
  7. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and place it in an oven-safe skillet.
  10. Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Let it cool before slicing and serve.

Notes

Use fresh rosemary for the best flavor. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place.
