Same Day Sourdough Breadsticks

Delicious homemade sourdough breadsticks, perfect for any occasion and made in just one day!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup water
  • Optional: herbs (like rosemary or garlic powder), cheese, or seeds for toppings

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, salt, and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface. Knead the dough for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll each piece into a long stick, about 1/2-inch thick.
  4. Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs or cheese if desired.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

To achieve the best texture, make sure your sourdough starter is bubbly and active. Store cooked breadsticks in an airtight container at room temperature.
