Sourdough Bread Pudding

A delicious way to transform stale sourdough bread into a creamy, comforting dessert with a rich custard base and hints of vanilla and spices.

  • 7 cups sourdough bread, cubed
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the sourdough bread into 1-inch cubes and spread them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk together eggs, sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring they are well-soaked.
  5. Let the mixture soak for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center jiggles slightly.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.
